NA to start Q&A session tomorrow

VGP – Four Cabinet members will be questioned by the National Assembly deputies during the two-and-a-half-day Q&A session, starting from June 13.

As planned, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Minh Quang is expected to clarify on Wednesday morning the burning issues relating to land management and compensation, and site clearance as well as measures to address them.

Other pressing issues include growing pollution in craft villages and processing establishments, forest destruction and illegal exploitation of minerals.

Two NA deputies will question Minister Quang about possible wrongdoings in the three Denmark-funded projects on climate change adaptation.

In the afternoon, Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh will answer questions regarding the feasibility of solutions for achieving socio-economic targets set for 2012.

He will also explain about the slow allocation of investment capital in 2012, capital for national target programs in the 2011-2015 period and put forth measures to overcome the situation.

On Thursday morning, Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang will be interpellated about solutions for easing difficulties against businesses, investment for and management of hydro-power plants, and efficiency of some industrial groups.

Issues relating to crime prevention and combat, traffic safety management, use of forces in land evictions will be clarified by Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang.

Deputy PM Vu Van Ninh, Deputy Hoang Trung Hai, the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, the Minister of Construction, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Government Inspector, the Minister of Home Affairs will also attend the Q&A session.

Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc will close the Q&A session by providing more information on socio-economic performance in 2012, on Friday morning.

He is also expected to talk about the efficiency of capital use by State-owned enterprises and settlement of shortcomings in economic groups, anti-corruption among others.
