During the meeting, leaders of subcommittees presented reports on contents, facilities, communication, protocol, security and health works.

Deputy PM, FM Minh spoke highly of the efforts made by inferior levels in deploying assignments approved by the Prime Minister.

He highlighted that APEC cooperation is increasingly expanding with intersector features amid fast and complicated changes in the region and the world. Therefore, inferior levels need to coordinate closely and work with the Philippines and Peru, the hosts of APEC 2015 and 2016 to make practical contributions to common goals of APEC.

Last July, PM Nguyen Tan Dung has signed a decision to establish the National APEC 2017 Committee which will be headed by Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh.

The two vice Chairmen are Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Nguyen Cam Tu.

APEC Viet Nam 2017 is by and large a lynchpin of Viet Nam’s foreign policy towards 2020, reflecting the country’s determination to accelerate international integration and raise its multilateral diplomacy profile.

The next meeting of the Committee is expected to take place in December this year./.
