Netherlands prioritizes ties with VN

VGP – The Netherlands always attaches importance to strengthening cooperation with Việt Nam, affirmed Dutch Queen Beatrix while meeting with visiting PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on Thursday.

She hoped that both sides would boost delegation and people-to-people exchanges to enhance mutual understanding between the two nations.

Queen  Beatrix noted that PM Dũng’s visit to the Netherlands was a significant event which would help further the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

PM Dũng said during his meetings with other Dutch leaders earlier, both sides agreed on a string of measures to deepen the bilateral ties, focusing on five areas of climate change adaptation and water management, agriculture, seaport development, oil and gas exploration, and logistics.

The Government chief expressed his hope that the Dutch Royal Family would continue to encourage and create more favorable conditions for Dutch businesses to expand cooperation with Vietnamese partners.

On the same day, PM Dũng met with Dutch Deputy PM, Minister of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation Maxime Verhagen.

Both sides agreed that the bilateral relations have been flourishing over the past time, especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment.

PM Dũng asked the Dutch side to assist Việt Nam to improve the quality of farm produce.

Also on the same day, PM Dũng and Dutch Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal witnessed the signing ceremony of a number of cooperative documents and contracts between the two countries’ businesses.
