New NA to convene first session on July 21
VGP – The 13th National Assembly (NA) will hold its first session from July 21 to August 8 to select personnel and decide law-making program for 2012, and oversee the implementation of socio-economic tasks and state budget in the first half of this year.

Party General Secretary, NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng stressed the importance of careful preparation for the upcoming event, especially the personnel task to ensure the quality of the NA’s operation in the new term as well as its lawmaking process and fulfillment of socio-economic goals.
Mr. Trọng underscored the necessity to make reports on the 13th NA election and elections for the local People’s Council in the 2011-2016 term, the country’s socio-economic performance, the new cabinet personnel, and petitions of voters.
At the first session, the 13th NA will elect the NA’s Chairman and Vice Chairmen, members of the NA Standing Committee, the State President, the PM, the Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court, and the Head of the Supreme People’s Procuracy./.
