At the closing ceremony on May 14, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dac Tai said that the four festive days, under the motto Nha Trang – Color of the Sea,” the festival featured a string of cultural, artistic and sport activities, helped nudge the local strengths in economy, culture and tourism closer to domestic and international friends.

Local cultural and traditional characteristics were highlighted through the whale-worshipping festival, street festival, cuisine festival, Salangane nest festival, folk games, and a traditional human chess tournament.

Besides, other activities like international scientific conference on sustainable development for Vietnamese Salangane nests, and releasing of young sea animals in Nha Trang Bay were hosted to raise public awareness of sea and island environment protection.

The Viet Nam Records Organization awarded certificates for the 10 Viet Nam Records in the locality, including those for the province with the most beautiful bays in Viet Nam and the largest stamp collection on marine creatures.

The provincial Department of Tourism reported that over 143,000 visitors flocked to Khanh Hoa during the festival this year./.
