Number of new firms in 2019 sets new record

VGP – The number of new firms established in 2019 set a new record of 138,100 with registered capital per enterprise averaged VND12.5 billion, the highest figure recorded over the recent years, according to the General Statistics Office.

The number of new firms established in agriculture-forestry-aquaculture, industry-construction and service sectors in 2019 witness respective increases of 9.9%, 5.3% and 5.1%.

As many as 138,100 enterprises were established during the year, totally registering capital of VND1.730 trillion and creating 1,254,400 jobs, up 5.2%, 17.1% and 13.3%, respectively, against the same period last year. 

The total additional capital added to the economy was estimated at VND2.273 trillion, raising the total registered and additional capital to the economy to VND4.003 trillion in 2019. 

A total number of 39,400 firms re-operated in the year, a year-on-year increase of 15.9%, bringing the total number of newly-established and re-operated firms to 177,500 ones in 2019. Each month, 14,800 enterprises were set up and re-operated. 

Meanwhile, 28,700 firms stopped operation in the year, up 5.9% while 43,700 ones are waiting for dissolution, up 41.7% and 16,800 ones completed dissolution procedures, up 3.2%. 

Regarding the business trend of enterprises of the manufacturing and processing industry in the fourth quarter of 2019, 46.7% of which assessed that production and business situations in the fourth quarter of the year are better than the previous quarter while 17% reported to face difficulties and 36.3% supposed that the production and business situations are stable.
