One more COVID-19 case confirmed, total rises to 994

VGP – The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control confirmed one new COVID-19 infection case this morning, bringing the country’s patient tally to 994.

A 87-year old man is confirmed as the 12th COVID-19 infection case in the community in Ha Noi since late July, 2020.

The latest patient is an 87 year-old man residing in Thanh Ba, Phu Tho Province.

On August 11, he had symptoms of the disease. On the following day, the patient went to the Ha Noi-based E Hospital for medical check before returning his family member’s house in Co Nhue Ward, Bac Tu Liem District, Ha Noi.

On August 13, he was admitted to the Department of Hepatology, E Hospital and had a chest CT scan with pneumonia diagnosis. He was then transferred to the Department of Tropical Diseases.

On August 18, he had his sample taken by the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology and the outcomes released on the following day showed that he was positive for the coronavirus.

He has been treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District, Ha Noi.

According to the Committee, 533 patients out of 994 COVID-19 infection cases confirmed in Viet Nam were declared clear of the virus, accounting for 53.6%.

Since July 25, Viet Nam has recorded 514 COVID-19 cases linked to Da Nang City.
