Online seminar on APEC Economic Leaders' Week

VGP – The Viet Nam Government Web Portal will cooperate with VTV8 to organize an online seminar theme “Ready for 2017 APEC Economic Leaders ' Week,” at 9:25 am on October 14 in Da Nang.

The event will draw the attendance of Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Huynh Duc Tho and Deputy Director of the APEC 2017 National Secretariat Nguyen Tat Thanh.

Established in 1989, APEC comprises 21 economies, including Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the US, and Viet Nam.

APEC represents about 39% of the world’s population and contributes 57% to global GDP and 49% of international trade.

Viet Nam joined APEC in 1998 and is hosting APEC events in 2017 under the theme “Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future”, which is its second time after the first in 2006.

The APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 is expected to welcome leaders from 21 member economies as well as nearly 4,000 foreign and local reporters./.
