The event attracted over 300 Vietnamese businessmen from over 30 countries and territories.

Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai stated that the Vietnamese Government encourages overseas Vietnamese (OV) businesses to establish partnerships with their counterparts at home to capitalize on opportunities for cooperation, contributing more to the homeland.

The Deputy PM called upon entrepreneurs to examine difficulties and challenges they face in establishing contacts and seeking outlets for products.

He also asked them to share managerial experience, support each other in expanding markets and improving competitive capacity, and make recommendations to the State to bring into full play the important role of the business community in favor of national development.

This year’s meeting provided a venue for investors to exchange views with State officials to strengthen connectivity between domestic and overseas Vietnamese to develop the community and serve national growth.

So far, OVs have set up footholds in 51 out of 63 cities and provinces in Viet Nam through 3,600 enterprises with a total investment of over US$8.6 billion. In 2012, OV remittances hit a record high of US$10 billion, up 10% over the previous year’s figure./.
