Thousands of people flock to Nghia Linh Mountain, Hy Cuong Commune, in Pho Tho Province to burn incense in commemoration of the Hung Kings

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement during a conference in Ha Noi on August 8 to review the fifteen-year implementation of Party resolution on building and developing Viet Nam's advanced culture deeply imbued with national identity.

The Party and State always pay much attention to cultural development and consider culture as an important ideological front, which has made great contributions to the success of the national revolutionary cause, PM Dung stressed.

The Government leader also emphasised the Party’s strategic vision and revolutionary outlook of building an advanced culture with national identity in the renewal process and its high valuation to the role and mission of culture in socio-economic and political development.

He recognised the outcomes of the resolution implementation in the past 15 years and asked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) to work closely with relevant agencies to seek creative and effective solutions to grasp opportunities, promote strengths and limit negative impacts of the market economy on building and developing Viet Nam's advanced culture imbued with national identity.

He urged the MCST to fully understand the Party and State policies on culture, implement effectively the Government’s Cultural Development Strategy toward 2020, and promote its role in managing social and cultural activities.

The MCST should devise appropriate action plans to promote the potential, strengths and the gained outcomes to be proactive in cultural integration, learn from the human beings’ cultural quintessence, preserve the national cultural identities and enrich the cultural treasures of the nation and mankind, PM Dung added.

He asked the whole society to join hand in building a sound and civilised cultural environment which lay a strong foundation for current and future generation links./.
