PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng together with 45 other heads of state will sit for the Nuclear Security Summit (NSS) on April 12-13 to discuss the threats posed by illegal diversion of nuclear materials; joint action to secure sensitive nuclear materials; measures to combat nuclear smuggling and terrorism; and the empowerment of the International Atomic Energy Agency in guaranteeing nuclear security.

The first high-ranking summit on nuclear security is expected to create a platform for participants to propose major orientations, key principles and specific measures for nuclear safety.

It is necessary for the summit to approve a joint statement on top-level security standards which are a decisive factor for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

As planned, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and his entourage will drop in Seattle, an economic, cultural and education hub where they visit the Boeing Company's Everett Facilities.
