PM Dung meets with Indian political parties’ leaders

VGP - PM Nguyen Tan Dung held meetings with leaders of India’s political parties, including the Indian National Congress (INC), the Communist Party of India (CPI) and the Communist Party of India - Marxist (CPI-M) during his official visit to India.

PM Dung valued India’s policy to Viet Nam and the parties’s contributions to promoting the traditional friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries.

The Government leader briefed the guests about the country’s socio-economic achievements and foreign policy, as well as the bilateral cooperation, saying that the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) always attaches importance to relations with India’s political parties. He expressed his hope that the political parties would continue to make further contributions to the sound and effective development of bilateral ties.

During the meeting with Chairman of the INC Committee on External Affairs Karan Singh, PM Dung spoke highly of PM Jawaharlal Nehru’s great contributions to founding bilateral ties, saying that Viet Nam would send a high-level delegation to India to attend the late PM’s 125thbirthday anniversary.

The two parties should continue delegation exchanges and enhance education cooperation to help young Party members understand about each other and the traditional friendship between the two peoples.

Meeting with General Secretary of the CPI S.Reddy and General Secretary of the CPI-MPrakat Karat, PM Dung asked for further cooperation between them and the CPV, particularly in experience exchange and information sharing.

The leaders affirmed their commitment to supporting the promotion of the strategic partnership between India and Viet Nam.
