Talking to educational staff, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng asserted that, recently, education-training and science-technology have greatly contributed to the country's successes. With the efforts of the whole people and over 1 million teachers throughout the country, the sector has trained a large force of workers in all socio-economic fields. "The Party and Government always attach great importance to education and training as the country's top policy to promote development," the PM said.

The PM emphasized that, in the new stage of the national cause of industrialization, modernization and international integration, the education and training sector is required to make sharply changes, better meeting the country's increasing demands. According to PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, human resource must be trained in line with the requirements of enterprises and investors. He suggested graduates from the national universities and other domestic institutes to accumulate experience by working for any employers, both Vietnamese and foreign, even in developed countries.

The PM also requested the sector to design feasible programs and plans on curricula, teachers training programs, training of 20,000 PhDs, teaching English at schools, pilot programs to equitize some universities, and a proper tuition regime.

The Government's leader agreed some proposals of the Ministry of Education and Training, such as funding summer courses for students in some disadvantaged localities; building accommodation for teachers living in difficulties; issuing a decree on national education system; attracting talents and foreign prestigious training institutes; and boosting vocational training and job generation programs.
