He said "We are now faced with unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19. The pandemic has spread through over 200 countries and territories and adversely affected the socio-economic life of many countries, and we, the ASEAN 3 countries, are no exception." Photo: VGP/Quang Hieu
Building on the spirit of “Cohesive and Responsive”, the ASEAN Community is working closely with our Partners and the international community in combating the pandemic. The timely and vigorous effort of the Governments of ASEAN, China, Japan and the ROK to contain the outbreak and spread of COVID-19 over the last months has yielded encouraging initial results, according to PM Phuc. Photo: VGP/Quang Hieu
The ASEAN 3 countries have long enjoyed excellent cooperation in effectively responding to economic challenges, natural disasters and epidemics, including the SARS outbreak in 2003. Amidst the adversities presented by COVID-19, we need to uphold this tradition, and demonstrate the spirit of solidarity and concerted effort to overcome this difficult chapter. Photo: VGP/Quang Hieu
The Vietnamese Government chief looks forward to the fruitful outcomes of the Summit today, which shall be vivid testament to the highest level of commitment and determination of ASEAN 3 countries in strengthening coordinated response to subdue the pandemic, restoring socio-economic stability and ensuring the well-being and livelihood of our people. Photo: VGP/Quang Hieu
