During the summit initiated by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the leaders emphasized that the special tripartite solidarity is the valuable asset of the three nations, which has served as an impetus for them to stand side by side in the past struggle for national independence and the current cause of national development.

They spoke highly of the outcomes of cooperation in such fields like politics, defense and security, border management, trade and investment, education and training among others.

The PMs vowed to continue sustaining the efficiency of the existing cooperation mechanisms, accelerating exchanges between border provinces, effectively implementing border management agreements, fostering coordination in ensuring security along the shared border line and combating trans-national crime.

They pledged to step up the implementation of the tripartite economic connectivity plan through 2030, focusing on mobilizing resources from development partners for their transport projects like Ha Noi-Vientiane Expressway, Vientiane-Vung Ang Railway, and HCMC-Phnom Penh Railway.

The three countries agreed to boost construction of border markets, goods distribution centers, and commercial warehouses; facilitate customs clearance of goods and people through border gates.

The PMs also agreed to coordinate in widening access to COVID-19 vaccines for developing countries, fruitfully realize the initiatives adopted by ASEAN in 2020, including ASEAN Travel Corridor and ASEAN Regional Reserve of Medical Supplies for Public Health Emergencies.

They committed to working with other ASEAN member States to promote ASEAN community building process and cooperation within subregions in ASEAN, and advocating ASEAN centrality.

Regarding regional and international issues of common concerns, the PMs shared their wish that Myanmar would soon restore stability and that divergences should be addressed through peaceful dialogues for the benefits of Myanmar and for peace and stability in the region.

Underlinging the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea, the leaders agreed to coordinate in building a substantial and effective Code of Conduct in the East Sea in line with international law; promote sustainable management and use of the Mekong water resources and collaborate in settling issues relating to hydropower development in the Mekong river basin and in clean and renewable energy development./.
