PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc made that statement on February 26 at his reception for Chairman of the Japan-Mekong Business Cooperation Committee, under the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) Yoichi Kobayashi.

At the meeting, Mr. Yoichi Kobayashi said the JCCI delegation to Viet Nam includes 30 enterprises operating in industry, service and finance, adding that these enterprises expect that the economic, trade and investment relations between Viet Nam and Japan will be expanded in the upcoming time.

From April this year, the Japanese Government will also increase its reception of Vietnamese workers with the specified skills visa, he said, expressing his hope that more Vietnamese people will come to learn and work in Japan.

The JCCI is actively coordinating with Vietnamese ministries, relevant agencies, and localities to implement specific measures to increase economic partnership, he confirmed.

Appraising the economic development guideline of the Vietnamese government, Mr. Yoichi Kobayashi said Viet Nam has a young and abundant labor force with high skills.

Viet Nam is a crucial partner of Japan, he affirmed, expecting that the two sides will soon ink the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

The JCCI will pledge its efforts to make contributions to developing the economic, trade and investment ties with Viet Nam, he asserted.

PM Phuc proposed the JCCI make efforts for Japan to become the largest investor in Viet Nam, welcoming the initiative of the JCCI in transforming Japanese investment from other countries into Viet Nam and other nations in the Mekong region.

He highly spoke of the Japan-Mekong Business Cooperation Committee in enhancing economic exchanges between the two nations through such activities as delegation exchanges, conferences and comments to improve investment environment in Viet Nam.

The same occasion, the Vietnamese leader asked the JCCI to continue organizing more business delegations operating in agriculture, auxiliary industry, information technology, urban planning and tourism to visit Viet Nam to seek for further cooperative opportunities.
