PM attends Central Public Security Party Organisation's Congress

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung on October 16 in Ha Noi attended the 6th Congress of the Party Organisation of the Central Public Security Force.

The congress drew the attendance former Party General Secretaries Le Kha Phieu and Nong Duc Manh, former Presidents Le Duc Anh and Tran Duc Luong, Head of the Party Central Committee (PCC) Commission for Organisation To Huy Rua, Head of the PCC Commission for Inspection Ngo Van Du, Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education Dinh The Huynh, and Secretary of the Ha Noi municipal Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Public Security, General Tran Dai Quang highlighted the sector’s achievements, which have contributed to maintaining political stability, protecting independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests, as well as creating a peaceful environment for nation-building, socio-economic development and external relations.

According to Minister Quang, the Party Organisation  of the Central Public Security Force should renew its leadership method, strengthen the staff’s capability and promote the sector’s key role in maintaining political security and social order and safety.

The congress is scheduled to review the performance of the Party Organisation, address shortcomings and causes, as well as draw experience from the implementation of the Party Organisation's resolution in the previous tenure while devising a plan for the 2015-2020 tenure.

Adressing the event, PM Nguyen Tan Dung proposed the Central Public Security Party Organisation to improve leadership and combat capacity in the new era.

The Government chief also noted the importance of five tasks including:

Firstly, continue to build the People’s Public Security Forces which are absolutely loyal to the Party and the communist country; persistently maintain the Party leadership over the public security forces; improve analysis and forecast capacity; safeguard national security and social order; and positively prevent terrorism and riots;

Secondly, continue to renovate state management measures on security in favour of socio-economic development; promote people's rights; perfect organization and improve operation (investigation, execution of criminal verdicts, judiciary assistance); and push forth the administrative reform especially administrative procedures;

Thirdly, strengthen the close relations between the People’s Public Security and People’s Army; build people's security; continue to implement the “All people protect the national security’ movement;  

Fourthly, build the People’s Public Security Force a revolutionary, regular, skilled, and modernized one;

Fifthly, proactively cement and deepen ties with foreign security and intelligence agencies and international organizations to combat crime and terrorism; learn experience from other partners; andparticipate in resolving global security issues./.
