PM delivers remarks at 71st anniversary of National Day

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc made the statement on Wednesday at the 71st anniversary of the National Day of Viet Nam.
Participants to the event included Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Tran Dai Quang, NA Chairman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; Deputy Prime Ministers Truong Hoa Binh, Pham Binh Minh, Vuong Dinh Hue, Vu Duc Dam among other dignitaries, foreign Ambassadors, and heads of international organizations in Ha Noi.
PM Phuc affirmed that Viet Nam will continue to transform the growth model, enhance productivity, efficiency and competitiveness.
“Further improving laws and institutions, and making breakthroughs in policy frameworks, leadership and governance will be our priorities,” he said.
It will also further promote democracy, uphold the rule of law, combat corruption and wastefulness while enhancing the effectiveness of foreign relations, step up international integration in order to develop Viet Nam into a strong country with prosperous people, a nation of justice, democracy and social advancement, the Government chief pledged.
Viet Nam will continue to pursue the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation; multi-lateralization and diversification of relations; being a reliable friend and partner and responsible member of the international community.
The country has strengthened friendship and cooperation with all countries and friends around the world, particularly the neighboring countries with who we share a border; worked closely with other ASEAN members to build a strong and united ASEAN Community.
Efforts have also been taken to add more substance to cooperation with strategic partners, comprehensive partners and traditional friends; to make meaningful contribution to peace and stability in the region, and the settle disagreements and differences via peaceful means on the basis of international law, said PM Phuc.
He took the occasion to extend sincere gratitude to the Governments and people, international organizations, partners and friends around the world for warm friendship, precious support and close cooperation.
On behalf of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Viet Nam, H.E. Mr. El Houcine Fardani, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps said this year the political agenda in Viet Nam was marked with the successful organization of the 12th Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the election of the National Assembly and the leadership of the country.
“We would like to take this occasion to renew to the leaders of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam our warmest congratulations and our best wishes of health and success,” he said.
According to Mr. El Houcine, the international community has established a firm commitment to support the country in pursuing its socio-economic development.
He re-affirmed the shared willingness and determination to develop the already strong relations between Viet Nam and respective countries and international organizations, through active and efficient cooperation for mutual benefits.
