PM directs infrastructure construction

For the past three years, the resolution has been implemented effectively, bringing notable outcomes in socio-economic infrastructure development.

Tasks and legal documents related to building and improving the infrastructure have been developed in accordance with the Government’s Resolution No.16/NQ-CP dated June 8, 2012.

Several key transport projects have helped connect regions locally and internationally while the construction of highways, airports, ports and transport infrastructure in key economic regions have been quickened to become operational soon.

However, several shortcomings still remain, including the economy’s limited reserve and investment capacity and site clearance.

In order to continue the implementation effectively, the PM asked relevant ministries and agencies to enhance legal document construction as directed in  Resolution No.16/NQ-CP.

Ministries, agencies and localities were required to review infrastructure plans, ensure the balance between demand and resources for implementation, improve the plans’ feasibility and submit those plans to authorized agencies for approval in 2015 and 2016.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment was assigned to work with ministries, agencies and localities to manage and use capital sources as regulated, study amendments to regulations on preparing and implementing projects on infrastructure development, as well as prioritize official development assistance for crucial projects.
