PM expects to soon launch VN-Czech direct air route

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc expected to soon launch a Viet Nam-Czech direct air route and suggested the Czech Republic facilitate visa granting for Vietnamese citizens at his reception for Czech Deputy PM, Minister of the Interior Jan Hamacek in Ha Noi on October 1.

At the meeting, the Czech Deputy PM affirmed that the Czech Government welcomes and advocates opening a Viet Nam-Czech direct air route, which helps promote trade and cultural exchanges. 

During the visit to Viet Nam, Jan Hamacek and leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security discussed crucial contents related to security, drug crime prevention and control, prevention of illegal migration and guaranty of cyber security. 

For his side, PM Phuc expressed his delight on the positive achievements in the two nations’ relationship through delegation exchanges, suggesting the two sides closely coordinate to celebrate the 70th founding anniversary of the diplomatic ties by 2020. 

He thanked the Czech Republic for creating favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese in Czech, confirming that Viet Nam is willing to promote close cooperation in drug prevention and control. 

The host thanked the Czech Republic for accelerating the signing of the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU – Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) in June, calling on the country to soon ratify the EVIPA and carry forward the European Parliament’s early ratification of the EVFTA, contributing to deepening the Viet Nam – EU comprehensive partnership and the Viet Nam – Czech Republic economic, trade and investment ties.

Phuc expressed thanks to the Czech Republic for supporting Viet Nam’s bid to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2020 – 2021 tenure. 

Viet Nam highly values and hopes the Czech Republic to continue supporting the maintenance of peace, stability and security in the East Sea as well as ASEAN’s common stance on the settlement of disputes by peaceful means in line with international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, said the PM.

The Czech Deputy PM proposed the two nations enhance close cooperation to ensure safety and security for the  direct air route, welcoming it as helping to boost the bilateral trade value. 

Besides cooperation in traditional sectors, Viet Nam wants to coordinate with the Czech Republic in other areas of human resources training, cyber security and crime prevention, said the Vietnamese leader.
