The Government chief praised the Catholic community for their contributions to the country’s achievements over the past year.

PM Dung affirmed the consistent policy of the Party and State to respect people’s right to freedom of belief and religion and ensure normal operation of religions on the basis of legal regulations.

He also expressed his hope that Vietnamese Catholics would live the gospel amidst the nation and continue effective contributions to socio-economic development.

According to official statistics, Viet Nam is home to 6.2 million Catholics, the second-largest community in Asia after the Philippines./.
