PM Phuc received Belarusian Deputy PM Igor Lyashenko on September 25 in Ha Noi.

The host leader affirmed that Viet Nam always treasures and preserves the traditional ties with Belarus.

He praised Belarusian leaders and people’s sentiments to Viet Nam, especially their assistance to natural disaster-affected residents in the central region. He also spoke highly of the close coordination between the two nations at international organizations and forums, particularly at the United Nations.

The host leader hailed the results of the earlier talks between Deputy PM Igor Lyashenko and his Vietnamese counterpart Vuong Dinh Hue, hoping that the two sides would have successful cooperation programs.

Viet Nam stands ready to create favorable conditions for the truck manufacturing joint venture in Hung Yen province to operate effectively with a long-term orientation to reach ASEAN markets, PM Phuc said.

The PM stressed that the Vietnamese Government has paid due attention to the automobile manufacturing sector. He hoped that the joint venture would increase the localization rate.

In reply, Deputy PM Lyashenko proposed the two sides establish industrial manufacturing joint ventures to serve both sides’ needs.

Specifically, the guest leader suggested the two sides establish a joint venture to produce automobile tyres in Belarus using Viet Nam’s rubber materials for exports to member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union and a joint venture to produce potassium fertilizer in Viet Nam.

Mr. Lyashenko informed his host that Belarus and Viet Nam would inaugurate a truck manufacturing factory in the northern province of Hung Yen on September 26. He added that Belarus would also implement a joint venture project to manufacture buses to serve Viet Nam’s demand, especially Ha Noi’s.

The Belarusian Deputy PM expressed  aspiration that the two countries would strive for a US$ 500 million two-way trade turnover this year./.
