Meeting with the RoK’s Minister of Gender Equality and Family Paik Hee-young on October 21, PM Dũng expressed his hope that the Korean Government would continue to provide more effective assistance to Vietnamese brides living there.

Việt Nam is reviewing and amending legal regulations on marriage to avoid possible women abuse and smuggling, said the Government chief.

Now, 90,000 Vietnamese people are living and working in the RoK, including 35,000 women who get marriage with Koreans.

Applauding results of Ms. Paik Hee-young’s talks with the MoLISA’s leaders, PM Dũng stressed that the Vietnamese Government always backs the relations between the RoK Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and Việt Nam’s MoLISA and Women’s Union.

The RoK’s Government always sees Việt Nam its important partner, stated Minister Paik Hee Young, saying that her Government would continue to impose financial, health, and marriage checks on Koreans who want to get marriage with foreign women.

Minister Paik Hee Young is now on her working visit to Việt Nam. Earlier, she had talks with Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyễn Thij Kim Ngân.
