PM okeys pilot submarine tours in Nha Trang Bay

VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has given nod to pilot submarine tours in Nha Trang Bay, the south central coastal province of Khanh Hoa.

The trial period will last two years since the official day of operation which is expected to start from this December.

The Ministry of Transport was assigned to cooperate with the Ministry of National Defense, the provincial Khanh Hoa People’s Committee, and relevant agencies to figure out range of activities, rescue plans, and operation of submarine services.

The Government leader also stressed that absolute safety must be ensured for tourists and measures should be taken to protect the environment, and to conserve and revive ecosystems in Nha Trang Bay.

Vinpearl, a subsidiary of Vingroup, announced in May that it had sent an order to the U.S. company Triton Submarines to produce a Triton DeepView submarine for the purpose of sightseeing around the Hon Tre Island.

A spectacular 24-seat submarine can dive to a maximum depth of 100 meters, offering visitors a breath-taking panoramic view of the undersea world./.
