Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc speaks at the event

Combating the disease was one of the four major tasks to be deployed in the time ahead, as requested by the Government leader during a monthly cabinet meeting in Ha Noi on February 2.

The focus should also be put on thoroughly grasping and implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the PM said.

He asked the Ministry of Planning and Investment to promptly develop and issue the Government’s action program on the implementation of the Resolution, as well as completing and submitting the five-year socio-economic development plan 2021-2025 to the National Assembly for approval.

The leader also requested the implementation of measures to accelerate growth in the first half of 2021, with a focus on stepping up three economic spaces – the domestic economy with a market of nearly 100 million people, the international economy with enhanced integration, and the digital economy.

In addition, he urged thorough preparations for the Lunar New Year (Tet) occasion, ensuring the people celebrate a joyful, safe and happy Tet. The PM stressed the need to ensure sufficient supply of Tet goods to meet the people’s demand; maintain security and order; and combat trade fraud and goods smuggling.

Media agencies were requested to enhance communication about the country’s achievements, activities celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year, and cultural, sports and festival events in line with the COVID-19 situation, while proactively fighting false and hostile claims.
