PM receives foreign guests

VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on Feb. 25 separately received the Republic of Korea’s Minister of Knowledge Economy Choi Joong Kyung and Acting President of the Democratic Party of Japan Yoshito Sengoku.

In his meeting with RoK’s Minister Choi Joong Kyung, PM Dũng highlighted that the bilateral relations between the two countries have been expanding well, particularly since the two sides established the strategic partnership.

The Government chief stressed Việt Nam’s strong commitment to boost the strategic ties in all aspects, and called on RoK to increase ODA for Việt Nam.

Minister Choi Joong Kyung, who is also a Special Envoy of the RoK’s President, conveyed President Lee Myung-bak’s letter to PM Dũng.

Rok hopes to cooperate with Việt Nam to build nuclear power plants, high-tech parks, technology education and transfer, the guest said.

PM Dũng spoke highly of the RoK’s goodwill, adding that Việt Nam adopted a strategy for nuclear energy development for peaceful purpose, including the nuclear power for socio-economic development.

In his reception to Mr. Yoshito Sengoku, the PM appreciated his visit, saying that it would effectively contribute to strengthening the Việt Nam-Japan strategic partnership which has undergone fine developments.

The two sides need to beef up the implementation of the inked agreements, particularly economic, trade and investment projects, said the Vietnamese leader.

Mr. Yoshito Sengoku expressed his hope that Vietnamese Government would continue to create favorable conditions for Japanese investors and spur cooperation, particularly in exploiting rare earth and building nuclear power plant.

PM Dũng also called on Japan to become the first member of the G7 to recognize Việt Nam’s market-oriented economy in 2011, and to simplify procedures for Japan entering visa for Vietnamese./.
