The Government members listened to and discussed reports on the performance of the Government and the Prime Minister in the term of 2002–2007; on the fulfillment of socio-economic duties in 2006 and the realization of 2007 agenda; on State budget disbursement in 2006 and 2007;  on socio-economic situation, domestic markets and import-export in February 2007; on administrative reform; on corruption control; and the PM’s draft instruction on dealing with unsolved shortcomings in planning and using land under investment projects.

All reports and the Government members agreed that, to achieve socio-economic development targets and tasks annually and every five years, the Government and the PM have performed drastically, proactively and flexibly to create a new impetus and strength, bringing about positive outcomes in all fields. The Government members also pointed out many weaknesses: the recent achievements are not corresponding to the country’s potentialities; resources are not fully mobilized and effectively used; social evils and traffic accidents remain terrible; the State apparatus and contingent of civil servants are slowly renewed; corruption, bureaucracy and prodigality are still serious.

Third, social work must meet the demands for a rapid and sustainable economic development, paying attention to the programs on poverty alleviation, and supporting the poor, especially in school and hospital fees;

Fourth, the PM agreed with major duties suggested by the Ministry of Internal Affairs for administrative reform in March;

Fifth, the PM requested the Ministry of Public Security to collaborate with judicial bodies in handling big corruption cases soon.
