The Government chief thanked the US for its valuable support for Viet Nam’s fight against HIV/AIDS, avian influenza, and for medical staff training.

Sebelius is now on a working visit to Viet Nam. During her stay, she held talks with Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Thi Kim Tien and signed a number of cooperative documents, including the health and medical science agreement.

She said both sides have enjoyed close health cooperation through the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

The US commits to closer cooperation with Viet Nam in preventing and fighting newly-emerged diseases, especially infectious ones and transferring HIV/AIDS-related technologies, Sebelius stressed./.
