PTSC wins first int’l shipbuilding tender

VGP - Petroleum Technical Services Corporation (PTSC), part of the Việt Nam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), has won the first international contract, worth US $35 million, for building multi-purpose service ships called PSV DP 2.

PTSC will provide the ships to Malaysian oil and gas group Talisman under a 5-year contract.

A PRSC representative said that the corporation is exporting many petroleum-related technical service packages to Cuba, Venezuela and Iraq. It has also provided many services worth millions of US dollars in Malaysia.

The new contract will help PTSC realize its strategy on developing key services in regional and world markets, especially building multi-purpose ships such as PSV DP 2.

PTSC is expected to earn over VND 10 trillion in 2009.
