Party General Secretary meets Hanoi constituency

VNGOVNet – Vietnam’s Communist Party General Secretary Nông Đức Mạnh and Hanoi’s NA delegation had a meeting with voters from Hoàn Kiếm and Ba Đình Districts in the morning of December 13 to inform them about the results of the 10th session of the 11th National Assembly and took note of their ideas on issues of their concern.

December 14, 2006 10:00 AM GMT+7

Most of the voters showed their concern about land management and use; site clearance; unsafe traffic in the capital; children’s education; financing small business households; corruption, red tape and bureaucracy seen in a part of civil servants; population management at ward level; promoting administrative apparatus reform aimed at separating administrative management from business management in order to make the administrative apparatus more effective; and getting rid of corrupted members from the leadership.

General Secretary Nông Đức Mạnh expressed his gratitude to and lauded the voters’ straight comments. He revealed that the upcoming 4th Plenum of the 10th Tenure Party Central Committee will discuss administrative reform with the view to raising efficiency and effectiveness of State agencies, making the State apparatus that of the people, by the people and for the people. To reach this goal, apart from personnel streamlining, it is imperative that each Party member and civil servant shows himself as an example and does better on Party construction, criticism and self-criticism.
