Party and State leaders receive Bulgarian Vice President

VNGOP – Party General Secretary Nông Đức Mạnh and State President Nguyễn Minh Triết separately give cordial receptions on April 23 in Hanoi to Mr. Angel Marin, Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria and his entourage.

At the receptions, General Secretary Nông Đức Mạnh and President Nguyễn Minh Triết showed their pleasure at Bulgaria's recent achievements, especially in its integration into European organizations, which helped to strengthen the country's status in the region and the world. The hosts congratulated Bulgaria for its admission to the European Union on January 01, 2007. They expressed their belief that Vietnam and Bulgaria will better collaborate each other within the ASEAN-EU and ASEM cooperation.

The Vietnamese leaders affirmed that Vietnam always attaches great importance to friendship and multifaceted cooperation with other countries, especially such traditional friends like Bulgaria and East European countries.

Vice President Angel Marin highly spoke of achievements made by the Vietnamese people over the past time, especially in maintaining political stability and developing economy. The guest stressed that the successful APEC 14 hosted by Vietnam helped to bring the country to a new high status. He expressed his hope that Vietnam and Bulgaria will deepen their cooperation in all fields and that Vietnam will become an important bridge for Bulgaria to cooperate with ASEAN members.

Vice President Angel Marin invited General Secretary Nông Đức Mạnh and State President Nguyễn Minh Triết to visit Bulgaria. The Vietnamese leaders accepted the invitation with pleasure.

On the same day, Bulgarian Vice President Angel Marin held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Trương Mỹ Hoa. The two sides discussed orientations and solutions to expand the bilateral multifaceted cooperation, focusing on economy and trade. The two Vice Presidents agreed that the two countries should promote trade ties and economic cooperation. They also share their opinions on some regional and international issues of common concern. The two sides confirmed to continue their close collaboration and mutual support on multilateral forums.

In the morning of April 23, Vice President Trương Mỹ Hoa and Vice President Angel Marin attended and gave speeches at the Vietnam-Bulgaria Business Forum attracting over 100 enteprises of the two countries.
