VGP – The southern central province of Phú Yên is drastically realizing various projects on world-class resorts, with the hope of becoming one of the most tourist attractions nationwide and worldwide.

Bãi Tràm - a beautiful site in Phú Yên Province

Phú Yên is endowed with both natural and cultural tourist resources which can be exploited to develop eco-tourism.

Recently, leaders of Phú Yên set their main target to focus on this key economic industry through a number of large-scale projects, such as Bãi Tràm Hideaway Resort, Long Beach and Thuận Thảo Resort.

To obtain licenses, all investors are obliged to vow environmental preservation and community development while implementing their projects.

Mr. Rody Van Bork, La Perla-Tashun CEO, remarked that Bãi Tràm is one of the most charming sites and that his company had decided to carry out the Bãi Tràm Hideaway Resort project, worth of US $10 million in total. He revealed that, by 2010, an international-standard resort will be completed here, with 167 five-star rooms, luxurious villas, amusement and sports facilities, and convention centers.

Other high-class tourist projects are also advancing to their debut, including the Phú Yên tourist complex (US $4.3 billion, 565 ha) which is so far the largest tourist project of its kind in Việt Nam, Small City resort (US $550 million, 300 ha), Long Beach (US $35 million, 8 ha), Sao Việt eco-tourist zone (US $30 million, 68.4 ha), Phương Gia Phú tourist complex (US $31 million, 8 ha), and Thuận Thảo Resort (US $10.5 million, 10 ha).

Mr. Nguyễn Mạnh Cường, Deputy Head of the Việt Nam National Administration of Tourism, pledged that in 2008, the organization and Phú Yên will assess the registered tourism projects and pour VND 50 billion in the province’s tourist infrastructure.
