Planning scheme for logistics centers approved

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a planning scheme for the development of logistics centers through 2020, vision toward 2030 in a bid to meet the requirements of local production and distribution and export activities.

Logistics services are expected to grow at 24%-25% and account for 10% of the gross domestic product per year by 2020. The figures are forecast to increase to 34%-35% and 15%, respectively.

Under the scheme, seven national (first grade) and regional (second grade) logistics centers and a specialized logistics center will be built in the North.

The number of national and regional logistics centers in the Central-Highlands region and the South will be six and five, respectively.

The logistics centers will provide integrated services and operate under the form of the third party logistics.

The fourth and fifth party logistics will be gradually deployed on the basis of e-commerce and supply chain development./.
