President Nguyễn Minh Triết opens the 4th ABAC

VNGOVNet – In the afternoon of November 14, the 4th meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) started its session at Melia Hotel in Hanoi. Vietnamese State President Nguyễn Minh Triết, Chairman of APEC Vietnam 2006 attended the meeting and delivered an opening speech. Mr. Triết said that ABAC has a significant role in and made a great contribution to the success of APEC 2006.

"Vietnam is committed to further renovation, improved investment environment, and deeper involvement in integration," Mr Triết said, adding that Vietnam will actively cooperate with the APEC to gain more achievements in its cause of national industrialization and modernization.

As the Chairman of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting 2006, Mr. Triết said that he highly appreciated the ABAC’s active performance and that suggestions and proposals made by the ABAC will be considered thoroughly by APEC leaders.

As scheduled, the ABAC will have a dialogue with APEC economic leaders on November 18.
