Vietnamese Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Nguyễn Quang Khai (L) introduces Việt Nam’s tourism potentials to foreign guests
The Vietnamese Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has lately held a tourism promotion meeting with the participation of some companies from Việt Nam and even Bahrain.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the UAE Nguyễn Quang Khai said Việt Nam’s tourism growth rate has doubled that of the country’s GDP in recent years. Despite the global economic crisis, the tourism industry developed strongly in 2009, accounting for 13.1% of the economy’s total revenue.

Mr. Paul James, Trading Manager of GTC 360 Company from Bahrain, assumed that few people from the Gulf states and the Middle East tour Việt Nam because they lack information, so Việt Nam should open a regional tourism office there soon. Vietnamese travel agencies should participate in the Arab Travel Market to be held in Dubai from May 4-7, he said.
