Promoting investment in Northwest provinces
VGP – “Awaking a potential area” is the topic of the “Promoting Investment in Northwest Provinces Forum 2008” which will be held by the Northwest Steering Committee, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Committee of Nationality, People’s Committees of Lào Cai, Yên Bái, Phú Thọ, Điện Biên, Lai Châu, Hà Giang, and the Bank for Investment and Development of Việt Nam, on August 21, 2008 in Lào Cai Province.

Mr. Phạm Văn Cường, Deputy Chairman of the Lào Cai People’s Committee, chief organizer of the forum, made public this at the press conference on August 6 in Hà Nội.
According to Mr. Cường, the Northwest provinces need a huge source of investment capital to be able to obtain their growth and economic development goals.
So, he stated that the forum, the biggest of its kind ever held in the region, will be a good opportunity for the related provinces to introduce their potentialities, advantages, favorable policies, investment incentives and key projects to both domestic and foreign investors. At the forum, the participants can exchange their opinions on investment activities with leaders of some competent ministries and Northwest provinces as well.
