Previously, at the August 12 meeting, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng put forth five major solution groups which must be drastically and promptly put into reality by ministries, sectors and localities. These solutions include: Taking all urgent measures to control market price increases; Promoting export; Tightening price control and regulation; Maintaining the supply-demand balance of primary goods; and Regulating the currency market.
To concretize these solutions, Deputy Minister of Finance Trần Xuân Hà stated that since August 14, an interdisciplinary working team will inspect some producers and businesses to prevent their speculation; the ministries of Finance, Industry and Commerce will apply a reduction of VND 500/liter of petrol and keep the current prices of electricity, diesel, kerosene, and mazut; the ministries of Finance, Agriculture and Rural Development will review the supply-demand balance of food, fertilizers, and salt.
