VGP – Public investment disbursement met 79.3% of the preset goal in the first 11 months, representing a year-on-year increase of 34%, hitting its highest level in a decade thanks to drastic management of the Government, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MoPI).

Disbursed volume of public investment capital in the first 11 months was equivalent to 79.3% of this year’s target, representing a year-on-year increase of 34%, said the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

This is the highest volume in a decade thanks to drastic management of the Government, according to the ministry.

Latest updates from the Ministry of Finance showed disbursement of public investment reached VND 336 trillion, including VND20 trillion in official development assistance, or (US$14 billion) as of November 30.

Disbursement rate has got better since late July, with 15 ministries and agencies and 18 localities disbursing over 75% of allocated capital. Of them, nine ministries and seven localities saw disbursement rate of over 85%.

However, 13 ministries and five localities recorded the disbursement rate of less than 50%.

The Government is making all-out efforts to boost the disbursement of public investment, considering this as a key solution to achieve the dual goal of Covid-19 containment and economic recovery.
