Quang Nam gets nearly US$140 mln of ODA from WB
VGP - Since 2000, the central province of Quang Nam has absorbed US$139.8 million ODA from 18 WB-funded projects which contributed significantly to the local education system, rural transport, afforestation, electricity and water supply.
The news was made published on May 17 at workshop to review the implementation of WB-funded projects in Quang Nam which is one of the localities benefiting most from the WB.
Thanks to the projects, around 7,000 households in the province have engaged in a tree planting project. About 50,000 people in Phu Ninh district have access to fresh water and 37 schools have received financial support.
WB Country Director in Viet Nam Victoria Kwakwa said the bank is funding ten projects in Quang Nam with a total investment of US$100 million.
The Director praised the locality’s performance in disbursement, especially projects to supply electricity and improve education and healthcare, and its efforts in effectively managing the WB-sponsored aid./.
