The central province of Quang Tri and Lao provinces of Savannakhet and Salavan reopen four auxiliary border gates along Viet Nam-Laos borderline.

These border gates are allowed for the circulation of goods while the ban on passengers' exit and entry remains in place.  As these border gates are small ones, there are no quarantine systems, posing a high risk of disease infection.

These border gates include Ta Rung, Cheng and Thanh located in Huong Hoa District and Cooc in Dak Rong District.

Earlier on February 4, Quang Tri Province closed its managed four border gates along the Viet Nam-Laos borderline as a measure to prevent the transmissions of COVID-19 pandemic.

Border force in Quang Tri Province has set up checkpoints along the borderline with Laos to prevent illegal exit and entry.

Quang Tri shares more than 179km of border with Laos’ Savannakhet and Salavan.
