This is the content of the resolution of the regular cabinet meeting for November 2019 that has recently been released by the Government.

The resolution states that the cabinet members should take specific measures to handle shortcomings in the areas under their charge in a timely fashion.

The Government has requested ministries, agencies and localities to continue closely monitoring the developments in the world and regional economy, the changes in the market supply and demand, and prices of commodities, especially essential goods, to apply appropriate solutions and countermeasures in regulating macro policies and stabilizing market prices.

Ensuring smooth currency circulation during 2019 year-end

The Government has asked the State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV) to continue regulating the monetary policy in a proactive, flexible and prudent manner, creating favorable conditions and meeting the demand for credit capital for production and business activities. The SBV has also been requested to ensure monetary security and safety in the context of the digital economy, as well as smooth currency circulation, especially during 2019 year-end and in early 2020.

The Ministry of Finance should focus on directing the completion of the state budget estimates in 2019, striving for higher revenues than the figure reported to the National Assembly, contributing to creating more investment resources for important and urgent projects and works, and for salary reforms.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) should focus on removing difficulties and obstacles in industrial production development, in addition to diversifying the export markets and maintaining the stability of key markets.

Prepare enough supplies of essential goods

The Government has assigned the MOIT to continue implementing solutions to improve the quality and competitiveness of Vietnamese products, while developing Vietnamese brands in the context of integration.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has been asked to work with the MOIT to work out measures to stabilize year-end pork prices to ensure enough supplies and prevent price fever.

Continuing to accelerate high-performance sports

The Government has requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to strengthen tourism promotion activities and improve the quality of tourism services to attract more visitors, in addition to continuing to accelerate high-performance sports, towards gradually affirming the position of Vietnamese sports in the region and the world.

The Ministry of Transport should take measures to ensure safe traffic during 2019 year-end and well serve the people’s travel demand during the Lunar New Year (Tet) occasion.

The Ministry of Public Security has been asked to actively implement measures to prevent, combat and seriously handle crimes and law violations, especially the acts of organizing illegal cross-border transportation of people, human trafficking, black credit activities and gangsters.

Extending visa exemption for citizens of several countries

The Government has agreed to extend visa exemption for citizens from Russia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Demark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Belarus, with the duration of stay not exceeding 15 days since they receive the entry permit, regardless of their passport types and entry purposes, on the basis of meeting the full requirements of Vietnamese law. The visa exemption policy is effective until December 31, 2022./.
