VNGOVNet – On December 8, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng ratified the amended contents of the Stand-alone Agreement between the Governments of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Kingdom of Sweden on "Vietnam-Sweden Health Cooperation Program / Setting up and Developing Health Policies and System in the Period 2002-2006".

December 09, 2006 9:01 AM GMT+7

The PM authorized leaders of the Ministry of Health to sign this agreement with the Swedish Embassy in Vietnam.

The Cooperation Program is to strengthen the organizational capacity of the health sector; to realize the Comprehensive Poverty Reduction and Growth Strategy; and to nurture health staff’s ability.

The Program will also support other six health aspects: health policies; aid management and coordination; pharmaceutical management; community-based health development in difficulty-ridden areas; National Program on Preventing Accidents and Injuries and Building Up Safe Communities; and National Program on Control of Smoking Harms.
