Rice relief for Quang Binh, Ha Tinh

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has decided to supply 2,000 tons of rice from the national reserves to support local residents in the central provinces of Quang Binh and Ha Tinh to cope with consequences caused by heavy rains and floods.

He also tasked Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue to visit localities affected by rains and floods to direct the handling of the consequences.

Earlier on September 5, the Government chief sent a letter expressing his sympathy with local residents, soldiers and rescue forces in the flood-hit provinces.

He asked the local authorities to ensure living conditions and environmental sanitation for local residents while helping them recover production.

At least six people died and nine were missing as of September 5 as rains and flooding battered central Viet Nam for three days.

About 15,000 houses in the central region have been flooded and over 3,700 people were evacuated./.
