The sustainable development goals are stipulated in Decision 622/QD-TTg, dated May 10, 2017 and the National Action Plan to implement the UN Agenda 2030 for sustainable development.

The new decision set a roadmap to realize 17 sustainable development goals including (1) no poverty; (2) no hunger; (3) good health and well-being; (4) quality education; (5) gender equality; (6) clean water and sanitation; (7) affordable and clean energy; (8) decent work and economic growth; (9) industry renovation and infrastructure; (10) reduced inequalities; (11) sustainable cities and communities; (12) responsible consumption and production; (13) climate action; (14) life below water; (15) life on land; (16) peace, justice, and strong institutions; (17) partnerships for the goals.

Regarding the goals on no poverty, no hunger, good health and well-being, the decision set a roadmap to fundamentally terminate hunger by 2020 and absolutely get rid of hunger by 2025.

To fulfill the goal of raising 1.5 times of labor productivity in agricultural sector and agricultural labor, average income per capita of rural residents would touch VND 43 million by 2025 and VND 90 million by 2030.

In respect for the goal of quality education, by 2020, 100% of teachers will meet standards of training. About 80% of schools will provide teaching programs on gender, prevention of violence and abuse. The goals will meet 90% by 2025 and 100% by 2030.

Regarding the goal of gender equality, women and girls will be empowered to prevent violence in all types.

The goal of decent work and economic growth requires that GDP growth rate will be maintained at 5-6% in the 2020-2030 period. Average GDP per capita will increase 4-4.5% yearly. Labor productivity growth rate will be kept at 5% annually.

Under the decision, ministries and agencies are responsible for crafting specific plans and programs to fulfill the goals which have yet set roadmap in accordance with the Agenda Program on sustainable development./.
