The country exported 150,000 tons of rubber worth US $411 million in the first two months of this year, representing a year on year rise of 24% in volume but a drop of 23.6% in value.

It exported nearly 816,000 tons of rubber totaling over US $3.2 billion last year, mostly to China, Malaysia and India.

Now, export prices of Vietnamese rubber stand at US $3,700 – 3,750 per ton, up nearly US $500 per ton, compared with late January. According to experts, the prices are much likely to go up, because major rubber producers in the world face lower latex outputs in the dry season.
