Russia helps VN train nuclear energy experts

VGP – Việt Nam and Russia just reached a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on training nuclear energy experts, under which Vietnamese experts will be sent to Russia’s national nuclear energy group Rosatom in September.

According to the MoU inked in Moscow on March 17, bắt đầu từ năm 2010, Rosatom will be the official trainer for Vietnamese senior specialists in the field of nuclear energy.

The Russian Government and Rosatom pledged to provide some scholarships to the trainees.

Russia and Việt Nam are also planning to set up nuclear energy training projects which will be jointly implemented by the Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute (MIFI), Rosatom and Vietnamese universities.

Witnessing the signing ceremony, Vietnamese Deputy PM Nguyễn Thiện Nhân highly appreciated the cooperation between the two countries in the important field.

For his part, Rosatom General Director Kyrienko stressed his confidence that the training cooperation program will serve not only the construction of several nuclear power plants but also the development of nuclear energy as a civil industry in Việt Nam.
