Speaking at a meeting of the steering committee for Covid-19 prevention and control on February 14, Deputy PM Dam, who is head of the committee, said that he previously told the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) to promptly provide detailed instructions on Covid-19 prevention measures to schools, teachers, parents and students.

The local authorities and schools must fully apply measures to ensure schools and classrooms be really safe, in addition to promoting communication to make parents and students feel secure, he insisted.

“Teaching activities should not be resumed if students are still afraid of being infected at schools and still have to wear masks in classrooms,” the deputy PM stated.

Special attention must be paid to public consensus concerning the affairs involving a large crowd of people, he said, requesting the careful consideration of the resumption of classes, ensuring the health, secureness and trust of the people be the first priority.

Deputy PM Dam emphasized the significance of continuing to effectively prevent and combat the epidemic and ensure safety at schools, as well as strengthening the guidance and communication so that the people properly understand and actively participate in the implementation of anti-epidemic measures as a whole and students’ return to schools in particular./.
