VGP – The Sea and Island Week will be held in the central province of Ha Tinh from June 7-8 with a range of activities, including the 4th Forum of Viet Nam Sea Trademark and the 3rd Sea Economic Forum.

May 08, 2013 7:06 PM GMT+7

Viet Nam has more than 1 million square km of sea and continental shelf, more than 3,260km of coastline and over 3,000 archipelagos and islands.

To tap the great potential of sea and islands, the Party’s resolution on Viet Nam’s sea strategy regards the development of maritime economy as one of five breakthroughs in the national strategy for economic development from now until 2020 and beyond.

Under the strategy, maritime economic sector is expected to account for 53%-55% of gross domestic product and 55-60% of the country’s total export turnover./.
