This is part of a draft program on seafood exports till 2015 with a vision to 2020.

Under the program, the European Union, Japan and the US are targeted to continue to be Việt Nam’s leading export markets, which would account for 60-65% of the country’s total export turnover.

It also mentions expansion plans to potential markets like Eastern Europe, ASEAN, South Europe, the Middle East, and South America, and single markets such as China, Hong Kong, the Republic of Korea, and Australia.

MARD Deputy Minister Vũ Văn Tám, however, admitted that the program is facing the biggest challenges in processing export products, producing raw materials, conducting trade promotion programs, and controlling quality of seafood products./.
