VGP – The second summit of the Mekong River Commission (MRC) will be held on April 5 in Ho Chi Minh City.

March 17, 2014 6:04 PM GMT+7
Held every four years, this year's submit will see the attendance of leaders from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Viet Nam, China and Myanmar, and representatives from international organisations.

The PMs of Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Viet Nam, which are MRC members, will chair the event to discuss issues related to Mekong River development and management and relevant natural resources.

They will outline a strategy for the MRC’s future operation.

Earlier on April 2-3, the MRC will organize an international conference to discuss the trans-border water resources management.

On April 4, the ministers in charge of environment and water resources will hold a meeting on water, energy and food security.
